I was in the market for a new lens cover as the original cover that came with the Sony Alpha 100 camera lens broke while snapping it on the lens. When I saw this one, I immediately bought it. And am so glad. The lens cover is tight when it snaps on the lens, and the leash is optimal as I am forever looking for the lens cover after a shoot. If you need a replacement 55mm lens cover, look no further.

Looks great, works perfectly - high quality workmanship, unbelievable considering the price! And from the first time I unclipped it and took my first picture with my new Alpha without having to stuff the lens cap in my pocket, I knew I had made a smart purchase. Whatever possessed Sony to not include a tether on their lens with a $750 camera, much less a loop on the cap so you could buy a tether for it, sure stumps me. Sure, I'd like to have that cool looking "a" on the front, but for the convenience of this thing, there's no question the trade-off is more than worth it!

I purchased the cover given that it was significantly cheaper than the Sony part, it came packaged appropriately and cord length was adequate. Now I know where the lense cap is and not worrying about a dirty cap. Good product.

This cap is bad quality,will not stay on your Sony Nex 5 camera with an alpha lens.Save your money don't buy,not worth it!

This cap will not stay on your Sony Nex 5 camera with an alpha lens. It pops off just after you put it on. Might work for storing a camera but certainly will not work when you need it - the camera is on yor shoulder or around your neck.

This cap is not a good fit for Sony Nex-5 lens. Will not stay on, keeps popping off. I liked that it has a lanyard to attach to camera, though.

If you look at the picture of this lens cap, the lanyard is attached to the side of the cap. However, the cap came with the "lens cap savers" that I've ordered previously and don't work. They are supposed to stick to the lens cap, but they don't stay. There was no where to attach a lanyard to this cap. Very disappointed!

I hate misplacing my Sony snap-cap in my jean/jacket pocket or bag. I generally run the risk of accidentally touching the lens on my camera. I've done it before and I hate myself for touching the lens!The ultimate solution is the snap-cap lens w/ leash. It is the BEST thing ever. I attached the leash to the area where the shoulder strap goes. The leash is plenty long enough at 9.5". I had concerns that the leash was attached by glue (from other reviews), but it's actually looped through (like the area where you can put a charm on a cell phone). The snap-cap fits really nicely on the camera. I'm extremely ecstatic with this purchase because it was so cheap, too. It's definitely a great buy for it's quality, price and completely worth it for the convenience of having the snap-cap on hand. The one con to this purchase is not having the Sony "a" on this snap-cap, but that's a minor issue.
